Ten years ago I founded CITIG with the goal of helping people and businesses to better utilize technology to improve their personal and professional lives. I have over 20 years of experience in the IT Services industry. I am the technology leader behind CITIG – I make it my business to stay up on all of the latest technology and obtain certifications to prove it. You’ll find me working behind the scenes keeping CITIG running smoothly and steering you towards the most cost effective and functional IT solutions.
Drew Hanson, IT Consulting Manager
On a California-coastal road trip, I stopped in Santa Barbara and instantly fell in love with the city; my wife and I decided to make the move from Minnesota and start a new chapter. I left my job at MindShift, one of the top 5 IT Services Providers in the country and landed a gig with CITIG. Over three years later I am now the IT Consulting Manager. I have extensive experience on both the front lines supporting all our clients as well as behind the scenes managing a hardworking and knowledgeable team. I‘m always looking forward to how we can continue to provide the absolute best service to our clients and assist them in utilizing technology to their maximum benefit.
Amy Tate, Sr. IT Solutions Consultant
I joined CITIG at the end of 2012 from Magellan’s International Travel where I served as Network Administrator for 12 years looking after a complex network with a diverse user base. After joining CITIG my knowledge and experience has continued to expand through projects in Storage, Networking, Wireless, Backup, Virtual Application, Virtual Desktop (VDI) and Virtual Servers. I enjoy working closely with clients to support their short term and long term needs.
Mike Lewis, Sr. IT Solutions Consultant
I have been consulting in Santa Barbara since 1996, assisting local businesses and governments with all facets of their IT infrastructure. Outside of the IT world, you’ll find my wife and I enjoying time in the outdoors with our two children. I specialize in project design and implementation with an emphasis on application and desktop delivery. It is very rewarding to answer client demands and steer client growth towards proven best-of-breed solutions that meet their unique requirements. I believe strongly in engaging with clients as a vested business partner and building strong interpersonal relationships among owners, management and staff.
Leo David, IT Solutions Consultant
Growing up I always had an interest in technology and as soon as I was able to get my hands on my first computer I fell in love. Since then I have accumulated over 13 years of experience in the field of Information Technology. As a Technology Support Specialist for my home town school district I was able to streamline IT at the schools I was assigned to and help increase course offerings for the Science Technology Electronics and Mathematics (STEM) program. During my time at CITIG I have continued to increase my skills and abilities as a network and system administrator. As a Gaucho Alumnus I have always loved this area and I am proud to be a member of CITIG.
Simon Bentley, IT Solutions Consultant
After moving from New Zealand to the US in 2011 to be closer to my wife’s family, I began working as an independent IT consultant for both Van Buren Consulting and CITIG. I’ve specialized in Network Security and Medical Software over the past few years including Electronic Health Records, DEXIS Dental software and SIDEXIS 3D imaging. In addition to my IT pursuits, I’m a proud husband and father of two, semi-proud dog owner of three and a retired hobbit foot double. After working in the Santa Barbara area for several years, it’s great to have come full circle and be back working with CITIG clients.
Curt Johnson, Jr. IT Solutions Consultant
After driving through the Santa Barbara area for the first time when I was eighteen years old, I told myself that I was going to live here someday. I began my IT career at Mt. Bachelor and Sun Country Raft Tours where I managed a large workstation fleet in beautiful Bend, Oregon, the beer capital of the Pacific Northwest. The mountain lifestyle encouraged me to live a balanced life full of adventure; I bring that authenticity and drive to the work I do here at CITIG. I truly enjoy working with clients to discover how we can help them achieve excellence in the ever-changing world of Information Technology.
Kyle Sibbald, Desktop Support Specialist
A long time ago, in a city far, far away (Los Angeles), I, Kyle Sibbald, was born. I always dreamed of being a Jedi (computer guru). So, when I found a female Jedi who was strong with the force, and an opportunity at the Jedi Temple (the CITIG office) in Santa Barbara, I began mastering my light saber skills. As a Desktop Support Specialist, I work closely with the other Jedi Knights (CITIG staff) to field incoming requests and keep tickets moving along so that client’s homes and businesses continue to run as smooth as possible. I look forward to expanding my knowledge of the force exponentially in the years to come!
Jane Giles, Consultant, Legal Software Specialist
Ever since moving to the USA from England in 1989, I have worked as a software consultant supporting clients throughout the South Coast. Prior to joining CITIG, I worked in programming, analysis, customer service and end user training, and was a consultant with Van Buren Consulting for 25 years. I am a Sage Timeslips Certified Consultant qualified to handle all your billing needs. From installation to conclusion, I will customize the time and billing system best for you whether it be bills in the mail, PDF bills to email to clients or electronic billing. I also offer customization of Microsoft Office and training in both Word and Outlook.
Bob Van Buren, Sr. IT Solutions Consultant (Retired)
In 1985, I started Van Buren Consulting and for nearly 30 years have supported clients throughout Santa Barbara and the neighboring areas. In 2014, with the goal of not only continuing to provide excellent services in a fast-changing technological world, but also expanding our range of offerings, we joined forces with CITIG. Since then, I have enjoyed being able to utilize the CITIG team for technologies and solutions that we were not able to previously offer. Additionally, as I enjoy retirement I’m comforted knowing that CITIG has a quality team in place to continue supporting our clients.

As the Office and Accounts Manager I handle purchasing, invoicing, payroll, human resources and everything in-between. My primary goal is to keep your financial transactions with us smooth and efficient. You can reach out to me anytime with all your non-technical questions! Need an invoice copy? Wondering what’s the status of your account? Need to change your address or billing contact? Questions regarding an invoice? I want the excellent experience you’ve had with us technically to continue in all levels of your interactions with CITIG and help maintain the strong foundation of service that sets us apart.
Nicole Leza, Administrative Assistant
Growing up in Illinois, I always had an innate desire to move to California. So, I enrolled at UC Santa Barbara and received my degree in communication. During my undergraduate experience I gained knowledge and skills through internships in marketing and community management for local businesses. Being digitally savvy I bring this expertise to CITIG’s communications, social media, and marketing. You can also find me in the office making sure everything is running smoothly, as well as fostering CITIG’s fun culture and community involvement. I absolutely adore the community of Santa Barbara and I'm proud to be a part of it and part of the team at CITIG.
As more and more of our lives become digitized we store things on our computers that are simply irreplaceable. Without good data backup, so much of your life can be lost forever. CITIG delivers peace of mind.
